SCHOLARSHIPS
The COMTO North Texas Scholarship Program with a 501 (c) 3 status supports our strategic goal of ensuring the continuing legacy of minorities in transportation. Our primary goal is to award scholarships to worthy students for the pursuit of higher education who are pursuing various careers in the transportation industry, and the scholarship awardees are represented in many academic backgrounds.
We continue to promote our mission by supporting and developing the next generation of transportation industry leaders
COMTO annually awards multiple scholarships, ranging from $500 to $2,500 each to minority graduating high school students from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas region with at least a 2.5 GPA.
Steps to apply

Scholarships recipients will be honored at a COMTO Scholarship Reception. More details will follow. All scholarships will be disbursed to the school upon official verification of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. This should be in the form of an official class roster or letter from the registrar. You must also submit the Bursar’s mailing address, telephone number and your student account number.

Must be emailed by Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CST. No exceptions will be made for a late or incomplete application, so please be sure to follow all instructions carefully as follow-up calls will not be made for an incomplete application.

Jackson Carter is a 2020 Graduate from JJ Pierce High School in Richardson, Texas. He will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall. Both of his parents attended Texas A&M University and his brother is a sophomore there. Jackson will be studying Business Administration and Finance.

Maya Havens is a 2020 Graduate from Central High School in Keller, Texas. Migrating to America from Russia, her family vacation to the Galveston Island Pier awakened her passion for space, flight, and engineering. She will be attending Purdue University to pursue becoming an Aerospace Engineer.

Kiara Fletcher is a 2020 Graduate from L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. Kiara is interested in a career in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering. She is passionate about taking on the challenge of the STEM Field and making her mark. She will be attending North Carolina A&T State University in the fall.

Fernando Castaneda is a 2020 Graduate from John A. Dubiski Career High School in Grand Prairie, Texas. He is interested in becoming an Architect where he will design airports and low-income housing. Fernando will be attending the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue his goal.
